Will Ms. Kelley, conspectus law, to withdraw her testimony?

Hours before the verdict was announced, defense attorney Neal Johnston said it has been a “hard-fought” and stressful four-week trial. But he stressed that the jury did everything right and received proper instructions from the judge.

Judge Harry Pregerson denied Johnston’s request to dismiss the case.

Johnston then made a surprise plea for acquittal. “There is absolutely no physical evidence of Mr. Zimmerman assaulting George.”

But it wasn’t enough.

Also during closing arguments, he brought up Trayvon Martin’s mother during his closing argument.

“I thought she did a remarkable job of apologizing to all of us. I thought that was wonderful.”

Zimmerman: Trayvon Martin started physical altercation

Pregerson continued to explain to the jury the law — that it is not the role of a jury to look to motive.

Zimmerman, armed with a 9 mm pistol, emerged from his car to investigate a 911 call claiming two black males were fighting in a nearby neighborhood

Martin was unarmed at the time.

The prosecution called Zimmerman racially profiling Martin and then took advantage of his own neighborhood’s resident.

In its closing arguments, the prosecution argued Zimmerman disregarded the color of the Trayvon Martin, argued forcefully for him to be arrested and — ultimately — decided to end his life.

What is the full text of Zimmerman’s testimony?

Full text of his testimony from the night of the fatal confrontation.

On Wednesday morning, Zimmerman took the stand and took full responsibility for shooting and killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

He said he started the physical confrontation when he was punched in the nose and took a chunk out of his hair.

Zimmerman said he then punched Martin in the face and took another chunk out of his hair.

He said Martin pinned him down and slammed his head against the sidewalk.

Zimmerman said he turned around, and Martin was beating his head on the sidewalk.

He said he feared for his life and shot Martin to save his own.
